The Praia da Rocha Beach Estate is located 15kms east of the city of Inhambane, Southern Mozambique
Flying: There are daily flights by LAM to Inhambane from both Maputo (55mins) and Johannesburg (2hrs). The Johannesburg route now employs the new Q400 aircraft. Please refer to the LAM (Lineas Areas de Mocambique) website (www.lam.co.mz/en ) and schedules for details as this does change with the seasons. |
Driving:
When driving in Mozambique please be aware that all villages have a 60kmh speed restriction (50kmh within towns) and the traffic police routinely operate speed traps within these zones.
Directions from Inhambane:
Leave Inhambane City in the direction of the airport and Tofo (there are signs to both in town). The airport is located at the edge of town where the road turns 90 degrees to the right (you would drive stright on into the airport). From this point drive 9.2kms. Look out for the mobile phone mast, just after which, on the left side of the road, at 9.2kms there are signs to Praia da Rocha and to Tartaruga both pointing right. Turn right. Follow the sand road (4x4 required) for 7kms (ignore the right turn to Tartaruga after 1km) until you reach the front gate of Praia da Rocha Beach Estate.
Once in the estate drive follow the track for 800mtrs until you reach a deadend. The garage for the Lookout is on your left.
